Manager Procurement and Logistics | Major Projects Australia Job Description Fremantle Ports’ refreshed 2027 Strategic Plan marks an exciting new chapter for one of Australia’s most successful ports. Working within the Kwinana Bulk Terminal (KBT) Redevelopment Project team, this major project is a rare opportunity located in the greater Perth metropolitan area, offering project stability, longevity, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on a project set to significantly increase WA marine trade capability. The projected completion date is end 2032, and this role is offered on a maximum term contract through to 2032. Role Highlights Build your own team, procurement strategy, and systems for a major infrastructure project Manage high value spend, significant risk, and complex stakeholder relationships to ensure cost effectiveness across all acquisitions Work with an experienced, approachable, and supportive project team Key Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement Track market trends and manage supplier relationships Collaborate with project, commercial, and procurement teams Project Delivery Lead end-to-end procurement (EOI to contract award) Ensure scope alignment and smooth handover to delivery Prequalify suppliers and drive engagement strategies Maintain compliance, probity, and audit trails Project Controls Factor procurement risks into forecasts and risk registers Safety Embed safety in supplier selection and contracting Promote compliance and strong safety leadership People Leadership Build team capability and foster a high-performance culture Lead engagement and strengthen relationships Continuous Improvement Enhance procurement processes and share insights Corporate Support cross-team collaboration and champion safety What Makes You a Great Fit Through collaborative, accountable, and respectful leadership and with a strong focus on governance, probity, and market engagement you will excel at ensuring commercial outcomes align with project cost, schedule, and risk objectives. You’ll Also Bring Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline 10 years’ procurement experience on large-scale infrastructure or resources projects Demonstrated experience managing multi-package procurement (>$100M packages) Strong knowledge of Australian standard contracts (e.g. AS4000, AS4902) Proven negotiation and commercial acumen Experience operating within complex governance and probity environments Extensive experience (15 years) in commercial management on major infrastructure projects Demonstrated leadership capability What We Offer Join Fremantle Ports and be part of a proud organisation with a rich history and culture that makes a significant contribution to the WA economy.
